Rosenberg's Monitor (Varanus rosenbergi) or the Heath Monitor is a type of Monitor lizard found in Eastern, South and Western Australia. It can reach a length of 1.5 m.[1]


Rosenberg's Monitors mate over a 12-day period in January. In February/March females dig into a termite mounds creating a circular nest chamber. Then they lay up to 14 eggs in termite mounds. In September/October the hatchlings emerge from the mound generally with the assistance of the parent monitor digging them out.[1][2]
