Philodryas chamissonis, commonly known as long-tailed snake, is a medium-sized venomous reptile which usually reaches 1.40 meters of length. This species has a large distribution in Chile, living from Copiapo down to Valdivia. It is an endemic species to Chile and lives in a large variety of habitats. It is classified as vulnerable by the IUCN, and it is a protected animal in Chile. Usually, it's grey, with black and white longitudinal stripes in the body. It's an oviparous reptile. Its diet is mainly composed of little rodents, insects and other smaller reptiles. Is rarely found but its bite is painful and swells
